The purpose of the Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology program is to educate health science, engineering, rehabilitation counseling and education professionals on the application of science and technology for improving the quality of life of individuals with disabilities.
The curriculum is designed to prepare undergraduate students for the Assistive Technology Professional and the Seating and Mobility Specialist certifications, which are administered by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA); for employment opportunities within the fields of:
accessibility customer service
graduate school opportunities (clinical and research)
job promotion/transition opportunities
