The Fisher Specialized Master in Business-Finance (SMF) degree is an experiential, hands-on two-semester program that allows you to turn theory into action. You’ll dive deep into today’s financial issues, master cutting-edge software, continue with a variety of electives, work with teammates on a core capstone project, and finish with a rigorous practicum that gives you unparalleled and real-life experience.

*Domestic students entering the program in autumn 2026 or later will have the option to complete the third and final semester online. This new program enhancement allows students to enter the workforce sooner while completing program requirements from anywhere in the U.S. Students interested in exercising this option will need to complete 13.5 credit hours in the first autumn semester, 13.5 credit hours in the spring semester, and 9 credit hours of online coursework in the final autumn semester. The first autumn semester and spring semester are in-person only without exception.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

International graduates of this major are eligible per the Department of Homeland Security to apply for up to three (3) years of work permission in the United States after graduation. See the Office of International Affairs website for more eligibility requirements.
