About us
The Department of Microbiology has a rich history and long tradition of training world-class scientists. As we enter into this new era of genomics and molecular life science research, we are well on our way to training the next generation of researchers. Our Master’s program in microbiology offers an individualized approach to graduate study that may include laboratory research opportunities and experiences.
Please note: GRA or GTA appointments for graduate funding are not guaranteed to admitted MS students.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)
International graduates of this major are eligible per the Department of Homeland Security to apply for up to three (3) years of work permission in the United States after graduation. See the Office of International Affairs website for more eligibility requirements.
