The Certificate in Environmental Assessment offered by the School of Environment and Natural Resources prepares current and future professionals in the fundamentals of environmental assessment, which is the assessment of the environmental consequences of a plan, policy, program, or actual projects prior to the decision to move forward with the proposed action.
Environmental assessment is a tool for decision-makers in the United States and around the world, and this field of professional practice is ubiquitous in the development and sustainability fields in which countries, international governmental organizations, and international financial institutions participate world-wide.
The certificate is a 4-course, 12-credit program that can be completed fully online, fully in person, or as a combination.
