Nursing Practice (BSN to DNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice

About us

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program offers doctoral preparation to nurses whose career emphasis is direct clinical nursing practice or areas that support clinical practice, such as administration and health policy development. This contrasts with the aim of PhD education for nurses, the goal of which is to prepare nurses for scientific investigation and a career in nursing scholarship.

In the BSN to DNP program specifically, students select one advanced practice specialty at the time of application. Please visit the College of Nursing website for an overview of the specialty tracks and their modalities.

The DNP program pursues a holistic approach to personalized healthcare for those impacted by disparities in health and healthcare access. The goal of scholarly productivity in the program is the application of translational science to practice-focused scholarship. Both post-master's and post-baccalaureate study options are available.

The Ohio State University College of Nursing is proud to offer particular graduate-level specialty programs as a completely on-campu format as well as in a distance learning format.
